If only it was as simple as this! LOL My writing parter, associate and friend Chantal in Berlin, Germany September 28, 2009. This is the first official photo of America's first family, the Obamas, as captured by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz showing Barack Obama, wife Michelle and daughters Malia, 11, and eight-year-old Sasha looking relaxed as they pose in the Green Room on September 1, 2009.

An exhibition currently on at the O2 Arena in London features many Michael Jackson memorabilia, some, including this bling-packed crown, created for his final "This Is It" tour. (c) Getty 2009. King Michael Jackson, as seen in this oil painting of the star dressed as a king, part of the collection currently on exhibition at the O2 Arena, London, where his "This Is It" concert was scheduled to take place. There's no doubt what was in Michael Jackson's mind as he prepared for "This Is It" what would have been his last concert, at the O2 Arena in London. He wanted to cement his reputation of music king in a literal way. These images, among them a life-sized throne, a crown and a regal oil painting, depict him quite believably as a real life king. Unfortunately, he didn't get to deliver that vision. (c) Getty 2009.
Buffalo Soldiers in action, circa late 1900s as depictured in this painting. "Buffalo Soliders" is a nickname originally applied to the members of the 10th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army, which was formed on September 21, 1866 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The oldest surviving Buffalo Soldier, Mark Matthews, died on September 6, 2005. He was 111. These are the brave men Bob Marley sang about in his song "Buffalo Soldiers". Copyright: artist & copyright info unknown. Real life "Buffalo Soliders" circa late 1900s. Why the name buffalo soldier? There are three theories.

First, the nickname was applied to Black soldiers by Plains Indians, probably Cherokee or Comanche, who likened the soldiers' dark, curly hair to that of a buffalo's mane.

Second, also attributed to the Plains Indians, had to do with the buffalo-hide coats the cavalrymen wore as part of their winter uniforms. When they rode into battle, they looked like charging buffaloes!

Third, because of their legendary fighting spirit. It was an honour to be called a Buffalo Soldier. My current subscripton copy of Marketing Week with its lead story about guilt marketing. Yet, why do I get the impression that something else is being communicated here? "Naughty but nice" using some aspect of sex, perhaps? Maybe it's just me...
It seems like stripping off for the cover of magazines is a "career move" these days so everyone seems to be doing it. Here singer Rihanna becomes the latest victim...erm...I mean model, this time for GQ.. This Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) picture of Trinidadian Sintra Arunte-Bronte is still a firm favourite around the world. The JTB commissioned it for a poster campaign through Doyle Dane, an American advertising company, that organised a photo shoot in a New Kingston hotel. Today, Sintra lives and operates a successful destination management company in Trinidad. "Soldier of Love" Sade's new album officially drops next month. Love the cover art? You'll love the tunes much better! I've heard the tracks. ;-))
Good Morning Mona Lisa! The artists featured in the song and video to We Are the World 25 which debuted today at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
